Food Experiment!

Update: After not losing a single kilogram for months on end, I have lost 3.3kgs 10 days!  This is not 'water weight' as I eat healthy non processed foods permanently so it's not like my body is detoxing from nasties.

As some of you will know, I am obsessed with nutrition and food science!  I fully believe that your body can't run on toxic foods and chemicals.  You wouldn't put filthy petrol in your car and expect it to run at high performance, would you?

Anyway, over the past 8 years I've been really into whole food diets, but each of them seemed to have been lacking here and there.  For example, Paleo left me hungry all the time (maybe due to high fruit sugar and not enough fats?), Banting for me has been the most successful for appetite control but I didn't lose a lot of weight (I suspect I'm eating too much protein?), and Dax Moy had a similar effect to Banting (which I suspect is due to certain permitted grains).

However, yesterday my sister in law introduced me to the Word of Wisdom Diet and it seemed like the missing link between all the whole foods diets I had done previously.

So, with the pinched sciences behind Paleo, Banting, Dax Moy and the WoW, I have developed my own amalgamated mad scientist version of the diets. It is a low to moderate carb plan with no grains, high fat and medium protein.

Here is my little experiment for anyone who wants to tag along Dawn's Food Experiment

The above link is my personal food list (the ones I like to eat).  It's colour coded to remind me which foods I can eat most often to least often. You can find an explanation of the full food lists here: Real Meal Revolution Food Lists. As I have said, I am not following the food lists of banting to the exact letter.  I am eating all the green list vegetables freely with limited protein and fats.

I've done a little test using the food lists and have figured 6 portions of free list veggies, 6 fats, 3 proteins and 1 red list treat would come to only 1350 calories.  That's a whole lot of food and satiety for such a small amount of calories.

Anyway, I'm going to do this for 6 weeks and see what happens.  Anyone wanting to tag along please feel free! I'd love to know what happens.  Please feel free to comment and even take before and after pictures if you want.

As they say: use it, don't use it. :P xx

CREDITS: I can't credit everything I've read because we'd be here all year, however there are a few websites and people that are definitely worth reading on the subject.
